I thought about you.
I thought about all of those times you’ve felt overwhelmed by life’s situations and afflictions that can hit so hard, making it difficult to get back up again. I thought of all the soul aches, all the weight of a depression and an anxiety so intense it suffocates, and makes it hard to breathe again. I thought of all the childhood scars and all the pressures of those teenage years that can still haunt for a long time no matter how much you’ve tried to flee from them.
I thought about you.
I thought about the loneliness, the lack of confidence, and the emptiness that dwell inside you so easily. I thought of your need to drown all of it in alcohol, sexuality, work, or anything that can continue to mask and cover-up your inner reality. I thought of the battle you are fighting daily to try to remain sane and not succumb to insanity. I thought of your desire to want to give up, quit it all, fantasizing about what would happen if you were to cross over to the other side, wilfully.
I thought about you.
Yes, you. I thought about the fact that you have carried enough, endured enough, went through enough, and that it is now time to begin a new chapter. I thought of the fact that your journey towards healing and freedom didn’t have to start any later. I thought of the one who said: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” I thought of the hand he is extending to lead you back to hope. I thought of him who thinks of you, and who burns with desire to carry you, comfort you, free you from all the chains that are holding you back.
I thought about you.
I thought of all the music notes that can soothe, move and touch in an inexplicable way. I thought of the comfort that matching the right chords and messages could bring your way. I thought of these melodies and of all the messages that comes from the depth of the love of God through his son Jesus Christ. I thought of the fact that he offers a new identity, a new way of thinking, a new life. I thought of the invitation he’s giving you, to begin a personal relationship with him to receive life in abundance by his side, and this, for eternity. I thought about his message that is able to raise even the most broken of souls. Pen in hand, passion in heart, I concocted all of it in a compilation of songs. Know that at each step of this process, whether I have met you or not, you were the heart and motivation behind each of my lyrics. Without a shadow of a doubt,
I thought about you.
